Our Programs
Hanahan High School offers various programs for students with a passion for music and the arts. Marching Band, Color Guard, Concert & Symphonic Band, Winter Guard, and Jazz Band are just some of the opportunities offered. Learn more about our programs below!
Marching Band
The Hanahan Marching band is a competitive performing ensemble that provides music and entertainment at Hanahan High School Football games and marching competitions throughout the State. Marching season runs from May through October. Marching Band not only helps student's grow as musicians but fosters life long skills like commitment, respect, dedication, teamwork and time management.
Color Guard
The Color Guard is an essential part of the Hanahan Marching Pride. Our guard is a team of performers who perform choreographed dances and routines with various equipment to enhance and interpret the music of the marching band show. Color guard benefits students by fostering friendship, teamwork, dedication and self-confidence.
Concert & Symphonic Band
Hanahan High School offers a full music experience in the concert and symphonic bands. Students in both bands stay busy year-round by performing concerts, providing entertainment at community events, auditioning for honor band, taking part in various clinics, as well as participating in CPA annually.
Winter Guard
Winter Guard is an indoor color guard sport and performance art derived from military ceremonies. Modern winter guard is a competitive, performance-based activity that incorporates choreographed staging, dance, and manipulation of equipment such as flags and prop rifles and sabres (also known as "spinning"). Unlike traditional color guard, winter guard performances and contests are held indoors, usually in a gymnasium or an indoor arena.
The Winter Guard Season runs from November through March.
Jazz Band
Hanahan High School offers Jazz Band as a high school course. The jazz band performs a concert in the spring and many of our students participate in All-County Jazz band.
